Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence is required and willingness to travel to project sites.
• Proven experience in the roofing industry with flat roofing, mastic asphalt, felt or waterproofing knowledge.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills and health & safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage roofing and waterproofing contracts from inception through to completion.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to high quality standards.
• Coordinate with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and site operatives for smooth execution.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality and safety compliance.

The business has been trading since 1968, giving over 55 years of continuous delivery across the UK, with a turnover exceeding £10 million and a skilled team of 30 plus roofing operatives.

Based in Birmingham, the company specialises in mastic asphalt, felt and waterproofing systems for flat roofing, alongside service deck refurbishment, underground car park waterproofing and multi-storey car park surface treatments. Projects span the education, commercial, public sector and residential markets, with a strong reputation for delivering complex works on live and operational sites. Accreditations include the National Federation of Roofing Contractors and the Competent Roofer Scheme, and the business is a verified contractor for premium manufacturers including Sika.

This is a hands-on supervisory role for an experienced roofing professional ready to step into a contracts-focused position, managing multiple live projects across the UK from a base in Birmingham.

Contracts Supervisor Job Overview

• Oversee and manage roofing and waterproofing contracts from inception through to completion
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the high quality standards the business is known for
• Coordinate with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and site operatives to ensure smooth project execution
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality and compliance with health and safety regulations
• Prepare and maintain project documentation including reports, programmes and site records
• Resolve issues or conflicts as they arise, keeping projects on track and clients well informed
• Represent the business professionally on site, building strong relationships with clients and consultants
• Support handover, final inspections and quality sign-off

Contracts Supervisor Requirements

• Proven experience in the roofing industry with a strong understanding of flat roofing, mastic asphalt, felt or waterproofing systems
• Experience of car park waterproofing, service deck refurbishment or specialist surfacing is highly advantageous
• Previous supervisory or management experience within construction or roofing
• Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practice on site
• Confident communicator with strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
• Well organised with strong problem-solving and reporting abilities
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites
