Job summary

KM Education Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Roofer/Waterproofing Specialist Trainer (trainee or qualified) to join our West Midlands-based centre. The role offers a permanent, full-time pathway with training to become a qualified assessor.

You will assess learners progressing through roofing apprenticeships (waterproofing focus) and deliver essential Functional Skills while developing professional teaching capabilities.

Qualifications

• Solid occupational competency within Roofing, specifically waterproofing.
• Willingness to work towards a recognised teaching/assessing qualification: D32/D33, A1, TAQA or CAVA.

Responsibilities

• Assess and support learners working towards Level 2 Apprenticeships in Roofing with waterproofing focus.
• Deliver full training and guide learners through Functional Skills (Maths, English, ICT) to Level 2.
• Ensure sessions are motivating, engaging and develop learners' skills, knowledge and behaviours.
• Manage diary to ensure timely reviews and completions.
• Support learners through End Point Assessment process.
• Organise and maintain documentation on learners' progress.
• Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learners' needs.

Are you an experienced roofer in the Walsall area with strong skills in waterproofing?

This is a great opportunity to take your career in a new direction, and use the knowledge you’ve built on-site to guide the next generation of roofing apprentices!

You’ll receive full training to become a qualified assessor, along with excellent support, and the chance to develop professionally in a centre-based role.

Duties:

• Assess and support learners working towards full Apprenticeships in Roofing (level 2), specialising in Waterproofing.
• Deliver full training and support learners through their Functional Skills - Maths, English and ICT to level 2.
• Ensure sessions are motivating, engaging and develop learners' skills knowledge and behaviours
• Managing your diary efficiently to ensure timely reviews and completions.
• Support learners through the End Point Assessment Process.

Essential Criteria:

• Must hold solid occupational competency within Roofing (specifically waterproofing).
• Ideally hold (or willing to work towards) a recognised teaching/assessing qualification: D32/D33, A1, TAQA or CAVA.

• Organisational skills are a must, as well as the ability to plan your time effectively.
• Confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate people.
• Quality driven and prepared to go the extra mile for your learners.
