Job summary

KM Recruitment is seeking a Residential Childcare Assessor / Trainer (Trainee or Qualified) to cover Hertfordshire with home/field duties and travel across the region.

You will assess learners on Apprenticeships Levels 4 and 5, support Functional Skills, manage your diary, run online sessions, and maintain learner progress documentation.

A strong background in Residential Childcare, a willingness to work towards an Assessor qualification, and a clean UK driving licence are essential.

Qualifications

• Solid occupational experience within Residential Childcare (Children's Home) as a Deputy Manager or above.
• Willing to work towards an Assessor qualification (full funding and support provided).
• Level 3 NVQ in Residential Childcare (minimum).
• GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assess and support a caseload of learners working towards Residential Childcare Apprenticeships - Levels 4 and 5.
• Support learners with Functional Skills Maths and English to Level 2.
• Manage your diary to ensure timely reviews and meetings.
• Conduct online video meetings and training sessions with learners.
• Organise and maintain documentation on learners' progress.
• Support, advise and motivate learners.
• Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learner’s needs.

Location: Home/Field based covering Hertfordshire - Must be flexible with travel

Salary: £32,500 - £34,000 (Depending on qualifications and experience)

Essential Criteria:

• Must hold solid occupational experience within Residential Childcare (Childrens Home) as a Deputy Manager or above.
• Hold or be willing to work towards an Assessor qualification (full funding and support provided)
• Hold a level 3 NVQ in Residential Childcare as a minimum.
• Confident with Maths and English and ideally have own GCSE’s or equivalent in Maths and English.
• Full, clean UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
• Must be flexible with travel.
