Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support. You will diagnose faults, fix issues quickly, and help members continue their journeys in your local area.

The role involves working from home base with demand-led shifts, typically around 40 hours per week, with optional overtime and a structured development pathway including IMI accreditation.

Qualifications

• Must have a full UK driving licence with few or no penalty points.
• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent required.
• Alternatively 5+ years as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Deliver roadside mechanical repairs and diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across assigned local areas.
• Diagnose faults and perform quick, confident repairs to get members back on the road.
• Work independently while maintaining high standards of customer service.
