Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Roadside Technician to provide expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will diagnose faults, deliver quick, confident solutions, and help members continue their journeys safely.

Role offers a structured development path, hands-on learning, IMI accreditation opportunities, and a pathway to long-term careers within RAC.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults and provide quick, confident solutions to members.
• Work independently to diagnose faults and help members continue journeys safely.
• Use the latest diagnostic technology to identify faults and get members back on the road quickly.
• Be trusted to make decisions and develop your skills with support.
