Job summary

As a Roadside Technician within the RAC, you will perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK, helping members get back on the road quickly and safely.

You will diagnose faults, provide confident solutions, and work with a customer‑centric approach, benefiting from a structured development pathway and opportunities for IMI accreditation.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Deliver emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults and quickly resolve issues to get members back on the road.
• Combine technical expertise with customer service while diagnosing faults using latest diagnostic tools.
• Make decisions independently and develop your skills through on-going training.
