Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join the Patrol division. You will diagnose and repair vehicles at the roadside, delivering emergency breakdown support and expert service across the UK. You’ll start and end your day at home, with a RAC van, fuel card, and full uniform provided.

You’ll work around 40 hours per week with optional overtime, and earn a competitive base salary with strong earning potential through bonuses.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic is accepted as alternate.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Deliver emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Ensure quick, confident solutions and reassurance to RAC members.
