Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Roadside Technician for the Exeter cluster, serving local members with on‑the‑spot vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown assistance. You will work from home on a daily basis, with a RAC van, fuel card, uniform and diagnostic kit supplied, supporting drivers across the region.

Ideal candidates have an NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance, 2+ years’ roadside experience, and a clean UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Tackle faults such as flat batteries, tyre changes, and complex faults with quick, confident solutions.
• Start and finish days at home, using RAC van, fuel card, tools and diagnostic kit provided.
