Job summary

RAC is seeking an experienced Roadside Technician to perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown assistance across the UK. You will start and finish at home, with a fully equipped RAC van, diagnostic kit, and uniform provided.

The role requires a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification and at least 2 years of post-qualification experience, plus a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification or equivalent.
• Must have at least 2 years' post-qualification technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Handle fault diagnostics, tyre/battery issues, and quick, confident solutions for RAC members.
• Be prepared for demand-led shifts, home-based start and end of day, and use provided RAC tools and equipment.
