Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to diagnose faults and perform roadside repairs across the UK. You will provide emergency breakdown support, getting members back on the road quickly, often starting and finishing at home with a company van, fuel card, and full toolkit.

Candidates should have a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or 5+ years as a technician) and hold a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to diagnose vehicle faults and carry out roadside repairs.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a field environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Get members back on the road quickly with confident solutions.
• Start and finish days at home, with a RAC van and full kit provided.
• Utilise tools and diagnostic equipment in fast-paced calls.
