Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to repair vehicles at the roadside, diagnose faults, and support members across the UK. You will start and finish from home, servicing calls with a fully equipped RAC van and diagnostic tools.

The role requires Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician, plus a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points. Overtime and bonuses are available as part of the package.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience required.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic may be acceptable in lieu of NVQ 2.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Offer emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Deliver quick, confident solutions and reassurance to RAC members.
• Start and finish each day from home and manage calls head-on.
