Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician who will perform diagnostic and repair work at the roadside, delivering quick, confident solutions to get members back on the road. You’ll work locally, starting and finishing at home, with a RAC van, fuel card and tools provided from day one.

Qualified candidates have an NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) and 2+ years’ experience, plus a full UK driving licence with few points. London weighting applies where relevant.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and finish your day at home, with calls to roadside locations.
• Use the RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools and diagnostic kit provided.
