Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join our Patrol division across the UK. You’ll deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support, diagnosing faults quickly to get members back on the road.

Starting with a base salary of £36,400 and a realistic OTE of £61,000, the role offers 40-hour average shifts and optional overtime, plus a structured development pathway including IMI accreditation and ongoing support.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics across the UK.
• Provide emergency breakdown support and quick, confident solutions.
• Diagnose faults and help members continue their journeys safely.
• Work independently, using the latest diagnostic technology to identify faults.

Vehicle maintenance experience

5+ years technician experience

Education
