Job summary

Aviva plc is hiring a Roadside Technician for Green Flag Patrol. You will be the first point of contact for drivers, diagnose faults, and perform minor repairs to get customers back on the road.

This field-based role starts and finishes from home, with a four-day week and shifts between 7am–8pm. Overtime is available but voluntary, and there are numerous benefits including pension, private medical, and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical background with diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK Category B driving licence and aged 21+ for insurance purposes.
• NVQ Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance (or equivalent) preferred – or relevant hands-on experience.
• Up-to-date knowledge of repair techniques and a commitment to safe working practices.
• Confident working independently with a calm, empathetic approach to customers.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for drivers who have broken down, providing expert roadside support.
• Diagnose vehicle faults and carry out minor repairs to get customers back on the road quickly.
• Complete practical tasks such as tyre repairs/changes, battery testing and fuel assistance.
• Deliver clear explanations and reassurance to help customers feel calm in stressful situations.
• Use a fully equipped Green Flag vehicle and tools to resolve issues across your area.
