Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll combine technical skill with great customer service and work independently to diagnose faults and get members back on the road swiftly.

The role offers a structured development pathway, a strong base salary of £36,400, and an attractive £61,000 OTE with overtime options, plus benefits and a pension.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic or NVQ Route with 2+ years’ experience
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent required for pathway

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK
• Diagnose faults, solve problems and help members continue their journeys safely
• Use latest diagnostic technology to identify faults and get members back on the road quickly
• Work independently to diagnose faults and provide quick, confident solutions

Skills

Experience as Vehicle Technician/Mech

Full UK driving licence

Education

NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
