Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, perform repairs on site and help members continue their journeys safely.

The role offers a strong base salary of £36,400 with a realistic OTE of £61,000, plus extensive development, training and benefits. Starting from home or driveway, shifts average about 40 hours per week with optional overtime.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns across the UK with quick, confident solutions.
• Diagnose faults and get members back on the road safely.
• Deliver high-quality customer service while working independently.
