Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will operate from your home‑base, starting and finishing locally, and you will be supported with a van, fuel card, uniform, tools and diagnostic kit from day one.

The role requires an NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience, plus 5+ years in vehicle service.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and finish your day at home, tackling challenges head‑on and making a real impact on the roadside.
• Think on your feet and make the right call for each customer, with different fixes and challenges every day.
