Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to diagnose and repair vehicles at the roadside across the UK. You’ll work from home, responding to call-outs with your RAC van, diagnostic kit and tools, providing quick, confident solutions and first‑class member service.

The role requires a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and at least 2 years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic, plus a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• Two+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and finish at home with RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools and diagnostic kit provided.
• Respond to call-outs with demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week, with optional overtime.
