Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, provide quick, confident solutions and reassure members when they need help most.

You’ll work independently to diagnose faults, help members continue their journeys safely and grow your skills with the latest diagnostic technology and IMI accreditation opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK
• Diagnose faults, solve problems and help members continue their journeys safely
• Use the latest diagnostic technology to identify faults and get members back on the road quickly and safely
• Make decisions independently while developing skills for long‑term career growth

Education
