Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will diagnose faults, provide quick, confident solutions, and help members continue their journeys safely.

The role includes a structured development programme, hands-on learning, and opportunities for IMI accreditation, with a demand-led 40-hour week and optional overtime.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and perform expert roadside repairs.
• Deliver vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Work independently to diagnose faults and provide quick, confident solutions.
• Use diagnostic technology to identify faults and get members back on the road safely.
