Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to diagnose faults, perform mechanical roadside repairs and deliver rapid breakdown support across the UK. You’ll work from home base with demand-led shifts, averaging around 40 hours per week, with optional overtime and a focus on getting members back on the road quickly.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults and provide quick, confident solutions to get members back on the road.
• Work independently to diagnose faults and ensure safe journeys for RAC members.
• Combine technical expertise with strong customer service and use diagnostic technology repeatedly.

Education
