Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, perform roadside repairs, and help members continue their journeys safely with confidence.

Starting on your driveway, with demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week and optional overtime, you’ll follow a structured development programme and pursue IMI accreditation to grow your skills and advance a long-term RAC career.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults, repair on site, and help members continue journeys safely.
• Use latest diagnostic tools and maintain high customer service standards.
