Job summary

Mount Charles Group are recruiting a Cleaning Operative to join our team based at Glenalina Lodge, Belfast. This part-time role offers 20 hours per week, with a pattern of 09:00–13:00 and 5/7 days with every other weekend off.

You will ensure all areas are cleaned to required standards, follow COSHH guidelines, report faults, and keep cleaning stores tidy. Mount Charles Group is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Have knowledge of cleaning chemicals/products and have previous cleaning experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas are cleaned to the required standards, including weekly and periodic tasks.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely per COSHH guidelines.
• Familiarise yourself with and safely operate cleaning equipment; follow supervisor instructions after training.
• Report any faulty equipment immediately and mark as such.
• Ensure safety signage is used and warn customers where applicable.
• Keep cleaning stores tidy and equipment stored correctly.

The Role:

• Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards - this to include weekly and periodic tasks
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH)
• Ensure full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use cleaning equipment as directed by the Line Manager only after correct training is given.
• Report immediately any equipment which is faulty, mark as faulty and do not use
• Ensure that the safety signage is used appropriate at all times, e.g. wet floor signs and ‘warn’ customers where possible
• Ensure that cleaning stores are kept clean and tidy and equipment is stored correctly and safely at all times

The Person:

• Have knowledge of cleaning chemicals/products and have previous cleaning experience
• Are customer focused with good eye for detail
• Good time management skills
• Experience of working on your own and ensuring set tasks are completed.
• Basic statutory training for the role will require all candidates to have basic reading, writing,speakingand listening skills toassistin understanding safety and work, instructions and communicating with customer on a day-today basis.
