Job summary

Mount Charles Group in Belfast is seeking a Cleaning Operative to join our team on a part-time basis (12 hours per week), 9am–1pm, three days out of seven.

This role includes cleaning offices, kitchen and rest areas, complying with COSHH, and reporting faulty equipment. On-site parking and a supportive, family‑like team are offered.

We provide 28 days' paid holidays (pro rata), Pension, Employee Assistance and ongoing training. Basic safety literacy required; Access NI check may apply.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas (offices, kitchen and rest areas) are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by COSHH guidelines.
• Maintain full working knowledge of cleaning equipment and use as directed by the Line Manager after training.
• Report immediately any faulty equipment, mark as faulty and do not use.
• Ensure safety signage is used at all times and warn customers where possible.
• Keep cleaning stores clean and tidy and store equipment safely.
• Free on-site parking

The Role:

• Ensure all areas (offices, kitchen and rest areas) are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards - this to include weekly and periodic tasks.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH)
• Ensure full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use cleaning equipment as directed by the Line Manager only after correct training is given.
• Report immediately any equipment which is faulty, mark as faulty and do not use
• Ensure that the safety signage is used appropriate at all times, e.g. wet floor signs and warn customers where possible
• Ensure that cleaning stores are kept clean and tidy and equipment is stored correctly and safely at all times
• Free on-site parking

Basic statutory training for the role will require all candidates to have basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to assist in understanding safety and work instructions and communicating with customers on a day-to-day basis.
