Job summary

Mount Charles is recruiting a Cleaning Operative for our Belfast site. You will ensure offices, kitchens and rest areas are cleaned to high standards, following COSHH guidelines and using equipment safely. Training is provided and you will report faults and keep stores organized.

• Attention to detail in all aspects of the work.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Flexible with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to understand safety and work instructions and communicate with customers.

Responsibilities

• Clean all areas (offices, kitchen and rest areas) to the required standards.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by COSHH guidelines.
• Operate cleaning equipment only after training and as directed by the Line Manager.
• Report immediately any faulty equipment and mark as faulty.
• Ensure safety signage is used and warn customers where possible.
• Keep cleaning stores tidy and store equipment safely at all times.

The Role

• Ensure all areas (offices, kitchen and rest areas) are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards - this to include weekly and periodic tasks.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH)
• Ensure full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use cleaning equipment as directed by the Line Manager only after correct training is given.
• Report immediately any equipment which is faulty, mark as faulty and do not use
• Ensure that the safety signage is used appropriate at all times, e. g. wet floor signs and ‘warn’ customers where possible
• Ensure that cleaning stores are kept clean and tidy and equipment is stored correctly and safely at all times
