Job summary

Mount Charles Group is recruiting a Chef for New-Brid ge Integrated College, Banbridge. This role requires culinary experience, HACCP knowledge, and the ability to manage in a contract catering environment.

You will prepare and cook food to a high standard, maintain service readiness, and provide excellent customer service as part of a dedicated team. Hours are 35 per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30am–2:30pm.

Qualifications

• Previous culinary experience and knowledge of HACCP regulations.
• Previous management experience in a catering environment.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work well in a team or independently.
• Experience in contract catering is advantageous.
• NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds 706/1&2 or above.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook all food to an exceptional standard, adhering to HACCP.
• Ensure service counter is prepped and ready for service.
• Deliver high-level customer service consistently.
• Work with the team to ensure timely and high-quality service.
• Handle purchasing, cash handling, and daily sales records as required.
• Complete bookwork and ETA administration as per procedures.
• Report equipment or facility issues to Head Office.

The Role:

• Prepare and cook all food to an exceptional standard, ensuring all HACCP regulations are adhered to.
• Ensure the service counter is prepped and ready for service
• Providing the highest level of customer service in a consistent approach to anyone who uses the facility
• Work as part of the team to ensure the service is delivered on time and to the highest possible standard
• Completing any administration as requested which may include recording of food temperatures, updating cleaning schedules, cashing uptillsand recording daily sales figures on the system.
• Complete bookwork procedures in line with company requirements;in particular theadministration of purchasing, cash handling,bankingand management of the weekly estimated trading account (ETA)
• Report defective equipment/ utensils/ work and floor surfaces etc. to the relevant Head Office department
• Ensure the opening and closing of all food outlets are carried outin accordance withCompany procedures.

• Previousculinary experience
• Demonstratable knowledge of HACCP
• Previousmanagement experience
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• The ability to work successfully as part of a team or individually
• Previousexperience working in a contract catering environment
• NVQ level 2&3 or City & Guilds 706/ 1&2 or above
