Mount Charles Group is recruiting a Cleaning Operative to join our team at the HSC Leadership Centre, Belfast. This role offers part-time hours (Mon-Fri, 1pm-4pm), 15 hours per week, in a world-leading facilities management company with strong family values.

You will clean to required standards, handle COSHH guidelines, and operate equipment safely. Applicants should have cleaning experience, attention to detail, and good time management.

Qualifications

• Experience working on your own to complete tasks.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and to the required standards, including weekly tasks.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely per COSHH guidelines.
• Know how to operate cleaning equipment and follow training before use.
• Report faulty equipment immediately and mark it as such.
• Use safety signage and warn customers about wet floors when possible.
• Keep cleaning stores tidy and equipment stored safely.

Working Pattern:

• Monday to Friday 1pm - 4pm
• 15 hours per week

The Role:

• Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards - this to include weekly and periodic tasks
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH)
• Ensure full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use cleaning equipment as directed by the Line Manager only after correct training is given.
• Report immediately any equipment which is faulty, mark as faulty and do not use
• Ensure that the safety signage is used appropriate at all times, e.g. wet floor signs and 'warn' customers where possible
• Ensure that cleaning stores are kept clean and tidy and equipment is stored correctly and safely at all times

The Person:

• Have knowledge of cleaning chemicals/products and have previous cleaning experience
• Are customer focused with good eye for detail
• Good time management skills
• Experience of working on your own and ensuring set tasks are completed.

Basic statutory training for the role will require all candidates to have basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to assist in understanding safety and work instructions and communicating with customer on a day-to-day basis.
