Job summary

Mount Charles Group is recruiting a Cleaning Supervisor for Friends School, Lisburn. This part-time role covers 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 3.30pm to 8.30pm, with a focus on delivering high standards of cleaning and safety compliance.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team, uphold Mount Charles values, and support health and wellbeing initiatives. Training and progression opportunities are available within a world-leading facilities management company.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently to required standards, including weekly tasks.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely following COSHH guidelines.
• Maintain knowledge of cleaning equipment and use it only after training.
• Report faulty equipment and ensure safety signage is used at all times.
• Keep cleaning stores tidy and equipment stored safely.
• Be aware of biohazards and work in environments with potential exposure tobodily fluids.
• Comply with client and Mount Charles security regulations.
• Lead with your team to maintain high cleaning standards.

The Role:

• Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards - this to include weekly and periodic tasks
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH)
• Ensure full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use cleaning equipment as directed by the Line Manager only after correct training is given.
• Report immediately any equipment which is faulty, mark as faulty and do not use
• Ensure that the safety signage is used appropriate at all times, e.g. wet floor signs and ‘warn’ customers where possible
• Ensure that cleaning stores are kept clean and tidy and equipment is stored correctly and safely at all times
• Be knowledgeable in ‘biohazard’, or biological hazard; we work in environments that may be involve the cleaning of bodily fluids such as blood, faeces or vomit that can carry infectious diseases including hepatitis or HIV.
• Comply with all security regulations for cleaning materials, equipment and buildings as laid down by client and Mount Charles
• Along with your team ofcleaners, you will ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards - this to include weekly and periodic tasks

Basic statutory training for the role will require all candidates to have basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to assist in understanding safety and work instructions and communicating with customers on a day-to-day basis.
