Job summary

Mount Charles Group is recruiting a customer-focused cleaner to join a friendly, family-oriented team in Lisburn. The role is part-time, 11.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 5pm–7:15pm. On-site parking is provided and full training will be given, with pro rata holidays and pension available.

The successful candidate will clean all areas to standard, handle cleaning materials safely, and assist with daily and periodic tasks under supervision.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to understand safety and work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and on time to required standards.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely according to COSHH guidelines.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment after training.
• Report faulty equipment immediately and mark as faulty.
• Maintain safety signage and ensure stores are kept clean and orderly.
• Work with the team to complete weekly and periodic cleaning tasks.

The Role:

• Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards - this to include weekly and periodic tasks
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH)
• Ensure full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use cleaning equipment as directed by the Line Manager only after correct training is given.
• Report immediately any equipment which is faulty, mark as faulty and do not use
• Ensure that the safety signage is used appropriate at all times, e.g. wet floor signs and ‘warn’ customers where possible
• Ensure that cleaning stores are kept clean and tidy and equipment is stored correctly and safely at all times
• Be knowledgeable in ‘biohazard’, or biological hazard; we work in environments that may be involve the cleaning of bodily fluids such as blood, faeces or vomit that can carry infectious diseases including hepatitis or HIV.
• Comply with all security regulations for cleaning materials, equipment and buildings as laid down by client and Mount Charles
• Along with your team ofcleaners, you will ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards - this to include weekly and periodic tasks

• Basic statutory training for the role will require all candidates to have basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to assist in understanding safety and work instructions and communicating with customers on a day-to-day basis.
