Job summary

Mount Charles Group is recruiting a Mobile Cleaning Operative to join our team at Lagan Valley Island, Lisburn. The role offers 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm, with training on cleaning equipment and COSHH practices.

You will ensure areas are cleaned to required standards and contribute to a safe, well-maintained environment. We seek a self-motivated, detail-oriented person with previous cleaning experience, a full driving licence, and reliable transport.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning roles or facilities support.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Clean all required areas efficiently and to standards.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely per COSHH guidelines.
• Understand and operate cleaning equipment correctly after training.
• Report faulty equipment and keep stores tidy.
• Maintain safety signage and assist customers where possible.
• Be aware of biohazards and dispose of sharps safely when needed.
• Comply with client and Mount Charles security rules.

The Role:

• Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards - this to include weekly and periodic tasks
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH)
• Ensure full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use cleaning equipment as directed by the Line Manager only after correct training is given.
• Report immediately any equipment which is faulty, mark as faulty and do not use
• Ensure that the safety signage is used appropriate at all times, e.g. wet floor signs and ‘warn’ customers where possible
• Ensure that cleaning stores are kept clean and tidy and equipment is stored correctly and safely at all times
• Be knowledgeable in ‘biohazard’, or biological hazard; we work in environments that may be involve the cleaning of bodily fluids such as blood, faeces or vomit that can carry infectious diseases including hepatitis or HIV.
• Safedisposal of sharpssuch as needles and blades may be necessary
• Comply with all security regulations for cleaning materials, equipment and buildings as laid down by client and Mount Charles

• Attention to detail in all aspects of the work.

• Have a full driving licence and a method of transport
• Have knowledge of cleaning chemicals/products and have previous cleaning experience

Basic statutory training for the role will require all candidates to have basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to assist in understanding safety and work instructions and communicating with customers on a day-to-day basis.
