Job summary

Mount Charles Group is recruiting a part-time Cleaning Operative to join the team at Simon Community, Flush Park Lisburn. The role focuses on maintaining clean offices, kitchens and rest areas with proper COSHH practice and safe equipment use.

Training is provided, and the successful candidate will work 18 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 12:30pm. Rewards include 28 days’ paid holidays (pro rata), an employee assistance programme, a company pension and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to assist in understanding safety and work instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas (offices, kitchen and rest areas) are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards, including weekly and periodic tasks.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by COSHH guidelines.
• Ensure knowledge of cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use equipment as directed by the Line Manager after training.
• Report immediately any equipment faults and mark as faulty.
• Ensure safety signage is used and warn customers where possible.
• Keep cleaning stores clean and tidy and store equipment safely.

The Role:

• Ensure all areas (offices, kitchen and rest areas) are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards - this to include weekly and periodic tasks.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH)
• Ensure full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use cleaning equipment as directed by the Line Manager only after correct training is given.
• Report immediately any equipment which is faulty, mark as faulty and do not use
• Ensure that the safety signage is used appropriate at all times, e.g. wet floor signs and ‘warn’ customers where possible
• Ensure that cleaning stores are kept clean and tidy and equipment is stored correctly and safely at all times
