Mount Charles Group is recruiting a Cleaning Operative for Lagan Valley Island, Lisburn. This role offers 11.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 5pm–7:15pm, with on-site parking, uniform, and full training provided.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated and able to work independently.

• Have knowledge of cleaning chemicals/products and prior cleaning experience.
• Basic reading/writing/speaking/listening for safety and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently to required standards (weekly and periodic tasks).
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as per COSHH guidelines.
• Be familiar with cleaning equipment and use them only after proper training.
• Report faulty equipment immediately and mark as such.
• Use safety signage and inform customers where possible.
• Keep cleaning stores tidy and store equipment safely.
• Be aware of biohazards and safety practices in cleaning environments.
• Comply with security regulations for materials and buildings.

The Role:

• Ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and in a timely manner to the required standards - this to include weekly and periodic tasks
• Use cleaning chemicals safely as detailed by the Control of Substances Hazardous to health guidelines (COSHH)
• Ensure full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and agents and use cleaning equipment as directed by the Line Manager only after correct training is given.
• Report immediately any equipment which is faulty, mark as faulty and do not use
• Ensure that the safety signage is used appropriate at all times, e.g. wet floor signs and ‘warn’ customers where possible
• Ensure that cleaning stores are kept clean and tidy and equipment is stored correctly and safely at all times
• Be knowledgeable in ‘biohazard’, or biological hazard; we work in environments that may be involve the cleaning of bodily fluids such as blood, faeces or vomit that can carry infectious diseases including hepatitis or HIV.
• Comply with all security regulations for cleaning materials, equipment and buildings as laid down by client and Mount Charles

• Basic statutory training for the role will require all candidates to have basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to assist in understanding safety and work instructions and communicating with customers on a day-to-day basis.
