Job summary

Focal Systems is seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician in Cardiff for a 6-month fixed-term contract. The role is primarily on the road and at customer sites, with a 40-hour workweek and potential for overnight work.

A valid UK driving licence is required, and the job includes installation and maintenance of camera hardware across client locations. You will diagnose issues, perform installations, and ensure adherence to safety and quality KPIs, while maintaining thorough records and

Qualifications

• Proven field service technician experience in field service or related installs.
• Strong technical aptitude with hardware/software troubleshooting.
• Proficient with power tools and installation equipment.
• Good physical stamina for extended tasks (up to 9 hours).
• Detail-oriented with adherence to specs and quality.
• Able to manage time and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Strong communication with supervisors and customers.

Responsibilities

• Onsite/offsite maintenance of camera hardware, diagnose, install, configure as per standards.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance to prevent issues.
• Respond to service calls and meet SLAs.
• Maintain accurate service records of work, parts, time spent.
• Onboard/scanning products into the system; attend installations as needed.
• Occasional night shifts for installations; travel to client sites.
