Job summary

Focal Systems is seeking a Field Service Technician for 6 months, 20 hours per week, to install camera hardware across UK sites and travel to customer locations, including overnight work. You will be responsible for deployment, configuration, and ensuring installation quality while meeting KPIs.

A full UK driving licence and reliable transport are required. Role involves working nights, performing installations with power tools, and maintaining documentation of activities.

Qualifications

• Proven Field Service Technician Experience: Previous experience in a field technician role, preferably in field service, installation, construction, or a related field.
• Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues efficiently.
• Proficiency in using power tools and other installation equipment required for this type of role.
• Physical stamina to work on feet and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods (up to 9 hours).
• Detail-oriented with excellent attention to quality standards and specifications.
• Time management to meet tight deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Effective communication with supervisors, team members and customers during installations.

Responsibilities

• Installation of camera hardware: mounting, connecting and configuring in accordance with company standards.
• Respond promptly to installation requests and ensure customer SLAs are met.
• Maintain accurate records of installation activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent, using company-provided tools
• Onboarding/scanning products into the system.
• Operate power tools safely and efficiently to complete installations.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks during installation visits.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure timely completion of installations.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure installation tasks meet quality standards.
• Meet or exceed speed and quality KPIs consistently.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to provide updates on progress and address any issues or challenges encountered during store visits.
