Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Retail Security Officer to protect customers, staff and stock in-store. You will be a visible deterrent, patrol premises, monitor CCTV and respond to incidents while delivering excellent customer service.

Candidates must hold a valid SIA DS or Guarding license, be flexible for weekends/evenings, and demonstrate calm, professional handling of challenging situations with strong reporting skills.

Qualifications

• SIA license required (DS or Guarding).
• Strong observational skills with the ability to identify suspicious behaviour.
• Calm, professional handling of difficult situations and reporting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for reporting and interactions.

Responsibilities

• Act as a visible security presence to deter theft and anti-social behaviour.
• Patrol store premises regularly to maintain safety and security.
• Monitor CCTV and security equipment and respond to suspicious activity.
• Conduct searches in line with company policies.
• Respond to alarms and incidents, escalating as needed.
• Complete accurate incident reports and liaise with management.
• Deliver professional customer service and assist with direction and queries.
• De-escalate confrontations and ensure compliance with procedures.
