Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is recruiting a Retail Security Officer to protect customers, staff and stock in a busy store environment. You will act as a visible deterrent, provide excellent customer service, respond to incidents and liaise with store management.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Licence (DS or Security Guarding) required.
• Right to Work in the UK and DBS/BS7858 clearance.
• Excellent verbal and written reporting skills.
• Flexible for varied shifts including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence to deter theft and anti-social behaviour.
• Patrol the store and monitor CCTV for suspicious activity.
• Respond to alarms and incidents, escalating as needed.
• Conduct searches in line with company procedures when necessary.
• Complete accurate incident and observation reports.
• Work closely with store management and staff on security matters.
• Provide a professional and approachable presence.
• Assist customers and staff with queries.
• De-escalate challenging situations calmly.
• Follow all site procedures, company policies and legal requirements.
• Support the wider team and undertake additional duties as required.
