Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Retail Security Officer to protect customers, staff and stock in a busy store setting. You will deter theft, monitor CCTV and respond to incidents while delivering friendly, professional service.

Ideal candidates hold a valid SIA licence (DS/SG), have the right to work in the UK and can obtain DBS/BS7858 clearance. Shifts are mornings 07:00–16:00 and may include weekends; a proactive, calm approach and clear reporting are essential.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK and ability to obtain DBS/BS7858 clearance.
• SIA Licence (DS or SG) required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible to work weekends and varied shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence and deter theft.
• Patrol the store and monitor CCTV for suspicious activity.
• Respond to alarms and incidents, escalating when required.
• Conduct searches in line with procedures when necessary.
• Complete accurate incident and observation reports.
• Collaborate with store management on security matters.
• Provide a professional, approachable presence to customers and staff.
• Assist customers and staff with queries.
• De-escalate situations calmly and follow site policies and legal requirements.
• Support the wider team with additional duties as needed.
