Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Retail Security Officer to safeguard customers, staff and stock within a busy retail environment. You will deter theft, monitor CCTV, respond to incidents, and provide excellent customer service while maintaining professional conduct.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid SIA licence (DS or Security Guarding), be able to undergo DBS/BS7858 clearance, and show strong observational and reporting skills. Shifts include weekends and evenings.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK and ability to undergo DBS and BS7858 clearance.
• SIA Licence (DS or Security Guarding) and security experience.
• Strong observational skills to identify suspicious behaviour.
• Ability to report clearly in writing and communicate effectively.
• Proactive and professional approach to safety and security.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence and deter theft.
• Patrol the store and monitor CCTV for suspicious activity.
• Respond to alarms and incidents and escalate as needed.
• Conduct searches in line with procedures.
• Complete accurate incident and observation reports.
• Work with store management and staff on security matters.
• Assist customers and staff with queries and de-escalate situations.
• Follow site procedures, company policies and legal requirements.
• Undertake additional duties to support the wider team.
