Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a confident Retail Security Officer for Newport. The role focuses on protecting people, preventing loss and creating a safe, positive shopping experience for customers and colleagues alike.

You will provide a visible presence on the shop floor, deliver excellent customer service and deter theft, while patrolling the store and coordinating with management and local authorities.

• SIA licence held and valid.

• Calm, professional and proactive on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible, reassuring presence on the shop floor.
• Deliver outstanding customer service at all times.
• Deterrence of theft and anti-social behaviour.
• Carry out regular store patrols.
• Operate CCTV systems to reduce crime and stock loss.
• Work closely with store management teams.
• Support partnerships with Police and local crime networks.
• Utilise Body Worn CCTV to enhance safety onsite.

About the Role

We're looking for a confident, approachable Retail Security Officer who can bring energy, professionalism and a calm presence to the shop floor. This is a role where no two days are the same as you'll be helping to protect people, prevent loss and create a safe, positive shopping experience for customers and colleagues alike..

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing a visible, reassuring presence on the shop floor
• Delivering outstanding customer service at all times
• Deterring theft, anti-social behaviour and public order offences
• Carrying out regular store patrols
• Operating CCTV systems to reduce crime and stock loss
• Working closely with store management teams
• Supporting partnerships with Police and local crime networks
• Using Body Worn CCTV to enhance safety for everyone onsite

What You'll Need

• A valid SIA licence
• A full 5-year checkable employment or education history (this is essential for vetting)
• A proactive, professional and customer-focused approach
