Job summary

TSS is seeking a Retail Security Officer in Colchester to provide a visible deterrent and support a safe environment for staff and visitors. The role requires an active SIA licence and the ability to work varied shifts, with emphasis on professional conduct and incident reporting.

The ideal candidate is 18 years or older, a confident communicator, and a team player who can deliver friendly and professional service.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible uniformed deterrent and contribute to safety on the client's premises.
• Carry out loss prevention per Company Policy and ensure staff and visitors are safe.
• Deter potential troublemakers on site and observe any issues.
• Observe and report incidents using the correct reporting systems.
• Carry out duties as assigned by the client or manager.
• Maintain up-to-date site knowledge and report local developments.
• Understand and implement fire and safety evacuation procedures.
• Assist with staff and contractor searches if required by the Client.
• Ensure the security base is clean and tidy and that the uniform is worn with SIA licence displayed.

Your Time at Work

• To provide a visible uniformed deterrent, to contribute to the safety and security of the client's premises and staff
• To carry out Company Policy on loss prevention and ensure the safety of staff and visitors
• To lawfully deter potential troublemakers on site
• To observe and report incidents using the correct reporting systems
• To carry out all duties assigned by the client or manager to whom you are responsible
• To ensure site knowledge is kept up to date and developments at local level are identified
• To understand and implement any Fire and Safety evacuation procedures
• To assist, if required by the Client, with staff and contractor searches
• To ensure that the Security base is always maintained in a clean and tidy condition
• To conduct yourself, at all times, in a manner which will bring credit to yourself and the Company, ensuring full uniform is worn and SIA licence is clearly displayed
