Job summary

TSS in Margate is seeking a Retail Security Officer to join our team. You will provide a visible uniformed deterrent and help ensure the safety of staff and customers, with shifts and hours varying.

The role requires strong communication and customer service skills, a 18+ age, and a valid SIA licence. You will receive ongoing training, a pension, eye-care, and other benefits as part of a large international security provider.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible uniformed deterrent and help ensure the safety of staff and customers.
• Carry out loss prevention and observe incidents using reporting systems.
• Deter troublemakers on site lawfully and follow client or manager instructions.
• Keep site knowledge up to date and understand evacuation procedures.
• Assist with searches for staff and contractors if required.
• Maintain a clean and tidy security base and display full uniform with SIA licence.
• Communicate professionally to bring credit to self and the company.

Position: Retail Security Officer

Location: Margate

Pay Rate: £14.10 per hour

Your Time at Work

• To provide a visible uniformed deterrent, to contribute to the safety and security of the client's premises and staff
• To carry out Company Policy on loss prevention and ensure the safety of staff and visitors
• To lawfully deter potential troublemakers on site
• To observe and report incidents using the correct reporting systems
• To carry out all duties assigned by the client or manager to whom you are responsible
• To ensure site knowledge is kept up to date and developments at local level are identified
• To understand and implement any Fire and Safety evacuation procedures
• To assist, if required by the Client, with staff and contractor searches
• To ensure that the Security base is always maintained in a clean and tidy condition
• To conduct yourself, at all times, in a manner which will bring credit to yourself and the Company, ensuring full uniform is worn and SIA licence is clearly displayed
