Job Title: Retail Operations Manager

Do you want to help grow the Hospice’s retail operation and maximise income to continue caring in the local community?

Over the next 12 months, we have exciting plans for our retail operations. We are now seeking an experienced Retail Operations Manager to help maximise these opportunities. Working with the Head of Retail, the Retail Operations Manager will contribute to developing, implementing, and evaluating an ambitious and achievable retail strategy with clear delivery plans.

The Hospice’s retail operations currently include 14 shops, a Donation Centre, an eCommerce unit, and a furniture collection service. We are exploring new ways to expand further!

Key duties of the Retail Operations Manager:

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the retail stores
• Delivering the commercial plan to ensure weekly, monthly, and annual targets are exceeded, and the annual income plan is achieved
• Contributing to the development of existing and new shops and trading formats, and identifying new shop locations
• Working with the Retail Support and Training Manager to recruit and train staff and volunteers, ensuring all shops adhere to policies, systems, and processes

Our ideal candidates will have:

• Experience in successfully growing sales in a retail environment
• Experience leading, managing, and motivating a large team
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the Hospice

Experience in a charity retail environment is preferable but not essential. Enthusiasm and a ‘can-do’ attitude are vital.

This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm. Some weekend work may be required with prior notice.
