Job summary

Sainsbury's Limited in Dewsbury is seeking a General Merchandise Manager for the Dewsbury Store. The role is part-time on a secondment basis, with a contract end date of 27 March 2027 and a salary of 32,700 (FTE).

You will lead the non-food category, ensure smooth day-to-day store operations from shop floor to warehouse, and manage performance, scheduling, and payroll for the team. There may be occasions where you run the store and guide colleagues in delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Taking responsibility for the management of all our non – food products ensuring they are presented fantastically to delight our customers.
• Ensure your area runs smoothly every day from the shop floor to the warehouse.
• People management is a big part of the role, managing performance and capability, conducting disciplinaries and ensuring scheduling and pay are accurate.
• At times you may assume overall responsibility for running the store, making sure that all colleagues are given direction and support to deliver for the customer.
