From Luxe Talent, an international consultancy specialising in recruitment, selection, and training, we are currently looking for a Retail Assistant General Manager for one of our clients, an important international Premium Retail & Hospitality brand, for their business in London.

  • Lead the day-to-day retail operations, ensuring the business maximises its commercial potential while maintaining exceptional operational and service standards.
  • Take ownership of the department’s financial performance and P&L, driving profitability, sales growth, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team, including managers and wider retail staff, creating a high-performing and positive working environment.
  • Take responsibility for the full employee lifecycle, supporting recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, development, performance management, and retention.
  • Build a culture of high morale, engagement, accountability, and continuous development, while maintaining a low staff turnover.
  • Deliver an authentic and exceptional Guest Experience, ensuring service consistently exceeds customer expectations.
  • Ensure the retail environment is visually inviting and commercially effective, working closely with Visual Merchandising to maintain high presentation standards.
  • Monitor and maintain appropriate stock levels and inventory, ensuring product availability supports commercial objectives.
  • Oversee ordering and stock management processes, ensuring efficient inventory control and minimising losses.
  • Develop innovative sales and marketing initiatives to drive revenue, increase market share, and maximise commercial opportunities.
  • Analyse business performance and identify opportunities to improve sales, profitability, productivity, and customer engagement.
  • Coordinate operations effectively between different departments, ensuring strong communication and collaboration across the business.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, guests, owners, investors, and the wider business community.
  • Represent the business professionally at client functions, events, designated parties, and local activations, ensuring guest satisfaction and supporting future business opportunities.
  • Develop new opportunities to increase sales and market share, including participation in local events and community initiatives.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships within the local business and social community, strengthening the brand’s presence and commercial network.
  • Coach and support employees who do not meet expected standards, taking appropriate action to maintain a consistently high-performing workforce.
  • Ensure all team members understand and meet company standards, policies, and expectations.
  • Promote a strong culture of teamwork and collaboration, ensuring all employees work together to deliver an outstanding guest experience.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, food safety, and operational regulations.
  • Operate with the highest level of integrity and professionalism, protecting the reputation and image of the brand.
  • Support the company’s sustainability initiatives and programmes designed to reduce environmental impact.
  • Report directly to the General Manager, working closely with them to drive the overall performance and development of the business.
  • Proven management experience within a fast-paced retail, hospitality, premium environment.
  • Proven experience managing managers and wider teams, with the ability to lead through multiple levels of responsibility.
  • Strong commercial awareness and proven experience managing P&L, budgets, sales performance, and profitability.
  • Proven ability to make high-quality and complex business decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills, with a focus on employee development and retention.
  • Strong understanding of sales and marketing concepts, with the creativity to develop new initiatives that drive revenue and market share.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple departments and priorities effectively.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety and food safety regulations.
  • Ability to communicate complex or technical information clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • A relevant level of education is required.
  • Fluent English is essential; additional languages will be considered a plus.
