Job summary

Focal Systems is seeking a Field Service Technician to maintain installations across the UK. The role is fixed-term (6 months) and requires 30 hours per week, with the potential to extend.

You will travel to customer sites, perform maintenance on camera hardware, and install systems in stores during opening hours, with occasional overnight work. Strong practical skills with power tools, a valid UK driving licence, and the ability to meet KPIs are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven Field Service Technician Experience: Previous experience in a field technician role, preferably in field service, installation, construction, or a related field.
• Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues efficiently.
• Proficiency in using power tools and other installation equipment required for this type of role.
• Physical stamina to work on feet and perform demanding tasks for extended periods (up to 9 hours).
• Detail-oriented with high quality standards and adherence to specifications.
• Time management to meet deadlines and coordinate multiple sites.
• Good communication skills to liaise with supervisors, team members and customers.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to sites.
• Ability to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Onsite and offsite maintenance of camera hardware; diagnose issues, install, replace and configure per company standards.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance checks and address potential issues.
• Respond promptly to service calls and meet customer SLAs.
• Maintain accurate records of service activities using company tools.
• Onboarding/scanning products into the system and updating records.
• Attend installations at various clients during night hours as required.
• Install Focal Systems product onto shelves, ceilings and equipment per plans.
• Operate power tools safely to complete installations.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company policies during visits.
