Job summary

Focal Systems is seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician to maintain installations across the UK. The role involves traveling to customer sites, performing on-site maintenance, installation, and system onboarding of our shelf-mounted cameras.

The 6-month fixed-term contract is 20 hours per week, with potential extension and occasional night/weekend work. Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have the physical stamina to work with power tools.

Qualifications

• Proven field service experience in installation or maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting for hardware and software.
• Proficiency with power tools and installation equipment.
• Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Valid UK driving licence and reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Onsite and offsite maintenance of camera hardware: diagnose issues, install, replace and configure in accordance with company standards.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance checks to identify and address potential issues.
• Respond promptly to service calls and ensure customer SLAs are met.
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, including work performed, parts used, and time spent, using company-provided tools.
• Onboarding/scanning products into the system.
• As required, attend installations at various clients during night hours.
• Installation of Focal Systems product onto shelves, ceilings, and other equipment as per installation plans and specifications.
• Operate power tools safely and efficiently to complete installations.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks during maintenance visits and installations.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure timely completion of installations.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure maintenance tasks meet quality standards.
• Meet or exceed speed and quality KPIs consistently.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to provide updates on progress and address any issues.
