Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking two Support Workers to provide day-to-day care and support in the Hinckley area. Roles are permanent with contracts for 21 hours and 20 hours per week, pro rata for part-time.

The successful candidates will assist adults with learning disabilities and complex needs in a supported living setting, delivering person-centred care. Flexibility, good communication, and a commitment to safeguarding are essential.

Qualifications

• Commitment to providing high quality care and independence; anti-discriminatory practice.
• Ability to use equipment to assist moving and handling and support people with complex needs.
• Effective communication including alternative methods (Makaton, picture boards).
• Good organisational skills to manage workloads and stay calm under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, responding to crises.
• IT and written skills to write and maintain clear records.
• Willingness to work 24/7 rota including weekends and bank holidays.
