Job summary

Leicestershire County Council’s Hinckley Short Breaks & Supported Living Services is looking for a 22.5 hours/week Support Worker to help provide person-centred care for adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and sensory impairments in a supported living setting.

No prior care experience is required as training is provided; you will join a supportive team and work flexibly to meet service needs, including weekends and bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Commitment to providing high quality care and support which maximises independence.
• Ability to use available equipment to assist with moving and handling service users.
• Effective communication with service users, including alternative methods.
• Good organisational skills to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to work a 24/7 rota including weekends and bank holidays.
• Be willing to attend training and meet DBS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day support and personal care to adults with disabilities.
• Promote choice and control while maximising independence.
• Maintain clear, concise records using IT and written skills.
• Work flexibly within a service rota that includes weekends/bank holidays.
