Job summary

Leicestershire County Council’s Carlton Drive Short Breaks team is recruiting a Support Worker for 30 hours per week to provide person-centred care to adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and sensory impairments. No prior care experience required as training is provided.

Role includes assisting with personal care, promoting independence, and working as part of a supportive team. Flexible working options are available, including weekends and bank holidays as part of

Qualifications

• Commitment to delivering high-quality care and maximising independence.
• Ability to assist with moving and handling and support people with complex needs.
• Effective communication, including alternative methods (e.g., Makaton).
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage workloads in a 24/7 service.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including occasional crises.
• IT and written records skills to maintain clear, concise records.

Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day support and personal care to adults in Short Breaks.
• Promote choice, control and maximise independence for service users.
• Attend training and work flexibly to meet service rota requirements.
• Adhere to Leicestershire County Council codes of conduct and safeguarding procedures.
