Job summary

Leicestershire County Council, Hinckley Short Breaks & Supported Living Services, is seeking a Support Worker on two part-time contracts (21 hours and 20 hours per week) to provide person-centred care to adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities and sensory impairments.

You will deliver day-to-day support, assist with personal care, promote choice and independence, and work flexible hours within a 24/7 service. DBS checks and training costs are provided.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate a commitment to providing high quality care and support which maximises independence, is anti-discriminatory, and adheres to relevant regulations and procedures (such as Adult Safeguarding and Valuing People Now).
• The ability to use available equipment to assist with moving and handling service users and to support people with complex needs and willing to attend training courses.

Responsibilities

• Deliver day to day support, providing assistance with personal care, promoting choice and control alongside maximising independence.
• Be responsive to meet the changing needs of a 24/7 service, including working weekends and bank holidays, and attend meetings or training outside of normal hours.
